Phantom of the Opera Pantantages Theater

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical and operetta by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the novel by French novelist Gaston Leroux. The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe directed by Hal Prince, choreographed by Gillian Lynne, lighting by Andrew Bridge and designed by Maria Bjornson. The musical focuses on a beautiful singer, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius known as "The Phantom of the Opera," who terrorizes the Paris Opera House.

Rent is a rock musical, with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson inspired by Giacomo Puccini's opera La Bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of the Bohemian East Village, under the shadow of AIDS.

Grease Pantantages Theater

Grease is a musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. It takes its name from the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as the greasers. The musical, set in 1959 in fictional Rydell High in Chicago, focuses on the romance between high schoolers Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski and tackles such social issues as teenage pregnancy and gang violence; its themes include love, friendship, teenage rebellion, sexual exploration during adolescence and, to some extent, class consciousness/class conflict. The show's score celebrates '50s rock and roll as well as doo-wop and other contemporary styles.

Rain The Beatles Experience. Pantantages Theater

Rain began as a session band hired by Dick Clark to perform Beatles songs for his 1979 telefilm Birth of the Beatles. Clark's objective was for the band to be as authentic to the Beatles as possible. After performing in the 1977-1979 Broadway musical Beatlemania (musical), Rain: TBE started out playing "'the three C's' of the entertainment business: cabarets, cruise ships, and conventions."* Rain: TBE began receiving more fans, perfecting The Beatles' image, and making the whole act as accurate as possible. They later toured small venues worldwide, as they continue to do today

Mamma Mia! is a musical with a book by British playwright Catherine Johnson, based on the songs of ABBA, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It is an example of a jukebox musical, and is notable for popularising the genre. The plot is adapted from the 1968 film Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell starring Gina Lollobrigida.

Legally Blonde Pantantages Theater

Legally Blonde is a musical based on the Amanda Brown novel and the 2001 film of the same name. The musical features the book by Heather Hach, music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. After a pre-Broadway tryout in San Francisco, the musical opened on Broadway on April 29, 2007 to mostly positive reviews. The musical was recorded for and aired on MTV in October, 2007. A U.S. tour has been announced.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas Pantantages Theater

The musical was originally performed at the Old Globe Theatre, San Diego, where it has run every Christmas season since 1998. The Old Globe production was directed by Jack O'Brien, with book and lyrics by Timothy Mason, original score by Mel Marvin and choreography by John Deluca.[1] This version featured songs from the television special, which had music by Albert Hague and lyrics by Seuss. A then-unknown Vanessa Hudgens played Cindy Lou Who (year unknown).
